Delicious

How lucky am I to have a husband that not only is an amazing man, but also a fabulous cook? Most of the time I cook or we cook together, but when it comes to anything Italian I let him do his thing. I stick to grating parmeseano reggiano, making a salad, setting the table, and plating the food (fail-proof tasks). Last night Jonathan made pumpkin tortellini with browned butter, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, and pears with balsamic and parm. Simple yet incredibly delicious. My minor contribution was homemade peasant bread from the Favorites Ivory Family Cookbook (very yummy, highly recommended). This was one delicious meal, thanks to Jonathan!!

The lighting in my apartment isn't the greatest, but you get the idea:

Wow! That looks really good! Now, if that's simple, I would like to know what isn't simple at your house: )

simple. right. I would expect nothing less from you two! Are your place settings Wedgwood? We have Wedgwood 'Windsor' and it looks very similar. I guess this is a roundabout way of saying I love your taste. :)

And I'm sure Jonathan whipped this up out of thin air and can't write the recipes down... sad for the rest of us.

Wooohooo I'm excited to be moving to New York! When's dinner?!

Our place settings are Italian Countryside by Mikasa. We absolutely love them...one of the best decisions we made on our wedding registry!

Please come visit us, all of you! Space might be a little tight, but we would love to have you over for dinner!! And there's nothing wrong with being close, right?

Hey sounds like our hubbies are a lot alike. Tyler really likes to cook. The nights that I go out and come home, I am amazed at what is sitting on the counter. He always makes a plate up for me and covers it up so it is still nice and fresh when I do get home. don't get me wrong, I do cook but tyler has the natural cooking talent in our marriage. The kids expect dinner from him more than they do me which is fine by me. I have always wanted to go back to NYC ever since I was there last year. Tyler would also like to come and go over to Conneticut (sp?) where he served his mission. I was bumbed when my friend moved back a few months ago but now we have a new connection. You!!!! Family is great isn't it? And don't worry Close is fine with us.

Wha??? Who are you people? How dare you cook in a NYC apt! Stop it right now! (unless you invite me over for dinner, I am very good at setting the table and pouring water)

jonathan -
Thanks for your comment on my blog. It's not very often I meet someone who really "gets" what it's like. I'm sure you'll find the same thing in years to come. I have admired your family for a long time and I just adore Jess, of course.

I loved your thoughtful post about parent-teacher conferences. Ha ha - and laughter about mini snickers in the petri dish.
I just finished reading "One Day, All Children" by Wendy Kopp, the founder of Teach For America. We really do need more social entrepreneurship - more people thinking like her about our education system. What an awesome experience for you - and so needed!

You'll never forget those faces - puffy or not.

Oh, and the the food looks superb!
